I'm a mechanical engineering major at Ohio State. Growing up, I loved being hands on and figuring out how things worked, fixing up cars in the driveway, replacing brakes, building skateboard ramps, whatever project was in front of me. The real turning point was getting a Kawasaki motorcycle for my 16th birthday that didn't run. I wanted to ride it badly enough that I had no choice but to learn how to fix it myself, and working through that problem piece by piece is what made me fall in love with engineering.
I've also started a handful of businesses over the years, and that's given me an equal love for talking to people and untangling business problems. That combination is what got me thinking like a businessman, joining selective clubs like BPAD and BUCC and taking on case competitions along the way.

1978 Kawasaki KE175 Restoration
Personal project · September 2022–Present
Fully disassembling, repairing, and reassembling a 1978 Kawasaki KE175 into reliable running condition — including making a replacement float for the carburetor myself when the OEM part wasn't worth the price online. Ongoing project: I'm still replacing, maintaining, and upgrading parts on it all the time.
My dad gave me this motorcycle for my sixteenth birthday, and it didn't run. I wanted to ride it badly enough that I started looking for carburetor parts online, only to find that replacement parts cost more than the bike itself. That's what forced me to start making my own. I didn't know anything about engineering or CAD at the time, but I taught myself enough to design a replacement float for the carburetor, the first thing I ever modeled in CAD. From there I rebuilt the engine, redid the clutch, and rewired the whole bike front to back. There isn't a part on it I haven't touched at some point. It took about a year before I finally got it running, and even then it ran horribly. Over the years I've tuned it to run smoother and smoother, and it's still the project I come back to, fixing whatever breaks next.
Smart Cane
Haptic feedback prototype
A smart cane for people who are visually impaired, built to help them locate obstacles.
This cane uses a LIDAR sensor to measure how far away obstacles are, then turns that into feedback someone can act on without needing to see it, useful for elderly or visually impaired people, or really anyone walking somewhere dark where they can't spot what's in front of them. I originally built it around a sound based alert that beeped faster as an obstacle got closer and slower as it moved farther away, but that got annoying fast, and it's not exactly discreet to have a cane beeping as you walk. So I swapped it for a servo motor with an off center weight attached, essentially building my own haptic motor since I didn't have one lying around, and mounted that to the cane instead. It vibrates more frequently the closer an obstacle gets, and less frequently as it moves farther away.

I wanted a project that would get me hands on and let me build something I could actually use day to day. I used CAD to help house all the components and merge them cohesively onto the pencil, then carried it from sketch to working prototype. The end result wasn't compact at all, and honestly I don't use it daily, so it ended up being more of a proof of concept than an everyday tool. But I got it working, and I learned a ton building it.

A dead battery and a first attempt at soldering. I wanted to fix a pair of Bose headphones myself, so I opened them up, replaced the battery, and resoldered the connections on the earcup board to get them working again.

Strategic Transformation for GreenWave Energy

The Prompt
EY partnered with the Buckeye Undergraduate Consulting Club to run a case competition built around GreenWave Energy, a realistic (though fictional) Columbus based renewable developer that had grown to 120 megawatts across 15 solar and wind projects and was pushing for major expansion. Teams had to build a prioritized transformation roadmap across four areas: energy transition and decarbonization, digital and technology enablement, grid modernization and reliability, and community and stakeholder engagement, each broken into near term, mid term, and long term initiatives with clear risks and expected benefits.
Our Approach
My workstream owned the energy transition and decarbonization pillar. GreenWave had clean energy capacity with nowhere near enough storage to make full use of it, so after hours of research I proposed deploying battery storage on GreenWave's own solar farms first, proving the model on their own assets before selling that expertise to partner developers, as one piece of the broader plan to take the company from 120MW toward 500MW and beyond. When we presented to EY, our recommendations lined up closely with what they had actually delivered to one of their own clients facing a similar issue, which is what ended up winning us the competition.

U.S. Individual Donor Fundraising Strategy

The Ask
IVI came to our OSU case team looking for a way to grow donations coming out of the United States for their nonprofit. Their existing funding base was shrinking and heavily restricted, so the ask was open ended: find the best path to more U.S. dollars.
Our Approach
We started by digging into the numbers: IVI's funding had fallen by $18.7 million in a single year, and 82% of what remained was restricted to specific programs, leaving almost no flexibility to grow. To get past the numbers, we ran hands on interviews with people across the company to get to the root of the issue and find out what IVI had already tried on the fundraising side. Looking across the options for growing U.S. donations, we landed on the individual donor market as the biggest opportunity, since it was largely untapped for IVI and had the most upside compared to other sources, so we built a two phase plan around it: first strengthen IVI's global marketing and storytelling so American donors actually understood who IVI was and why their work mattered, then pursue U.S. fiscal sponsorship, the same approach organizations like MSF and Save the Children used to build large, recurring individual donor bases.
We got to deliver that final presentation directly to IVI's leadership team, including the Director General and COO, which was an incredible experience. They told us they genuinely learned a lot from it. They're now working on implementing several of our recommendations, including actively looking for a fiscal sponsor.

Strategic Visibility for Insomnia Cookies

The Ask
Cintas came to our BUCC case team with a straightforward ask: help them figure out how to pitch their facility services to Insomnia Cookies, a fast growing late night bakery chain, in a way that would actually win the business. That meant digging into how Insomnia Cookies actually operates behind the counter, finding where they were exposed on cleanliness and safety, and building a pitch that solved a real, specific problem instead of just listing off services Cintas offers.
Our Approach
Instead of just working off assumptions, we actually went to an Insomnia Cookies location and talked to the people who would know best: customers, the workers behind the counter, and the store managers. That's how we found their weakest point, three nights a week with no dedicated overnight cleaning crew, which mattered because cleanliness ties directly to their Yelp ratings and revenue. We built our pitch around showing Cintas exactly how to fix that gap with a dedicated night crew, uniform optimization, and first aid and fire safety supplies, all pulling from infrastructure Cintas already had. It solved a real problem for Insomnia Cookies and opened new business for Cintas, a win win for both companies.

- Conducted hands-on primary research at IVI's Seoul headquarters, engaging with 50+ employees and running individual interviews with 25+ staff across leadership and program teams
- Combined that on-the-ground insight with financial research (IVI's funding fell $18.7M with 81.6% now restricted) and market analysis of the $592.5B U.S. individual giving market to identify fiscal sponsorship as IVI's clearest path to unrestricted donations
- Presented the full roadmap, including a Head of Individual Giving hire and a $1M annual recurring donation goal by 2030, directly to IVI's Director General, COO, and senior leadership, who are now acting on the recommendations
- Assisted in modeling spacecraft motion by using and classifying 10–11 intention modes for threat assessment
- Helped develop intention classifiers using 6-DOF state and trajectory projections, achieving 99.682% accuracy
- Assisted with converting 3D relative orbital trajectories into multi-view grayscale “trajectory images” for intent classification
- Co-founded this family run retail business, building our e-commerce store at shoprangeet.com and helping run day to day operations from the ground up
- Run social media advertising and content across Facebook and Instagram, driving 250%+ year-over-year sales growth
- Manage 35+ transactions weekly, in-store and customer interactions, and back-end sourcing, importing inventory directly from India to keep the store stocked
- Founded and managed a photography business, delivering 3–5 custom client sessions monthly
